A Memorandum of Understanding on Business Cooperation for Decarbonization Goals in Vietnam DEEP C Industrial Zone
~ Promoting environmental protection measures by using IoT and DX for tenants ~

KDDI Vietnam Corporation, an overseas subsidiary of KDDI Corporation, and DEEP C Management Co., Ltd, who developes and operates an industrial zone in Vietnam(Headquarters: Hai Phong city, General Director: Bruno Johan O. Jaspaert) had concluded a Memorandum of Understanding on Business Cooperation for the implementation of smart eco-solutions (hereinafter referred to as “the MOU”) for a carbon-free society in the DEEP C Industrial Zone (hereinafter referred to as "the Industrial Zone") located in Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province in Northern Vietnam, on November 25, 2021.

By signing the MOU, KDDI shall support DEEP C with its IoT system to become an advanced industrial zone that engages in environmental protection, promoting the use of renewable energy such as solar and wind power generation.
KDDI Vietnam shall provide numerous IoT-related-evaluation, implementation of IoT environments, operation and maintenance as well as other value-added support in order for DEEP C to achieve their aim of becoming a smart & eco industrial zone. In addition, both companies shall ultilize digital technology to support the tenants in solving their problems such as improving the production efficiency, logistics operations and reducing CO2 emissions.
In May 2018 at this industrial zone, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Business Cooperation to provide IoT- based-Smart Meters infrastructure and improve efficiency (Note). The KDDI’s IoT system has widely been used to manage the electric power, water level, temperature/humidity level, and equipment status of various facilities in the Industrial Zone.
KDDI Corporation shall continue to apply IoT to strengthen its smart eco-solutions in Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries.

- This is an area of 3,400 hectares, which is one of the largest Industrial Zone in Vietnam.
- Currently, there are more than 100 companies from all over the world, including 15 companies expanding from Japan in this Industrial Zone.
- It is a leading industrial zone in Vietnam with the aim of having operations’ and services’ quality equivalent to those of developed countries.
